does your skin need a radical makeover?

A Microneedling facial, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device equipped with fine needles to create tiny, controlled punctures or micro-injuries in the skin's surface. These micro-injuries signal your body to rush healing fibroblasts to the area. This stimulation of your body's natural healing process leads to increased collagen and elastin production, which helps to improve the overall texture, tone, and firmness of the skin.

Here's what typically happens during a Microneedling facial:

1. Consultation: Before the procedure, you'll have a consultation with your Esthetician to discuss your skincare concerns, goals, and medical history. They'll assess whether Microneedling is suitable for your skin type and condition.

2. Preparation: Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, dirt, and oil. A topical numbing cream will be applied to minimize discomfort during the procedure, You will then have the option to be placed under our Celluma Red LED panel for about 20 mins while your skin numbs.

3. Microneedling Treatment: At skinkind we use Rejuvepen which is an FDA approved Microneedling device. Your Esthetician will carefully glide the device over the treatment area, creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The depth of the needle penetration can be adjusted based on your specific skin concerns and tolerance level. The procedure may cause some mild discomfort, but it's generally well-tolerated.

4. Serum Application: Immediately after microneedling, a specialized serum containing  copper peptides and hyaluronic acid will be applied to the skin. The microchannels created by the microneedling device allow for better absorption of these active ingredients, maximizing their effectiveness.

5. Post-Treatment Care: Your skincare professional will provide instructions for post-treatment care, which  includes a complimentary take-home product. We recommend  avoiding sun exposure, using gentle skincare products, and applying moisturizer and sunscreen regularly. You may experience some redness, swelling, and mild irritation after the procedure, but these side effects typically subside within a few days.

Benefits of a microneedling facial may include:

  • Improved skin texture and tone

  • Reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines

  • Increased collagen and elastin production

  • Minimized pore size

  • Enhanced absorption of skincare products

  • Reduction in acne scars and hyperpigmentation

Microneedling facials are generally safe and suitable for most skin types, although they may not be recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions like open lesions or wounds or active skin infections. Multiple sessions spaced several weeks apart may be recommended to achieve optimal results, and maintenance treatments may be needed to sustain the benefits over time.
